STL Viewer is a free utility that allows you to open and view CAD 3D files with the STL file extension. These types of files are used to describe the surface geometry of 3D objects without including color, texture, and other attributes. In other words, they describe 3D objects in their raw form.
One of the advantages of STL Viewer is that you can open one or more files at the same time and use tile or cascade windows to visualize objects. After you have opened any file, you can use the different options located on the top of the main window such as zoom and rotate.
For zooming you can use the next options: the FitAll option which fits the object to the size of its window; the Zoom Window option allows you to zoom-in a selected area; the Dynamic Zooming option allows you to drag the mouse in diagonal directions to zoom in or out. You can also use the Dynamic panning or global panning to change the point of view of the object.
You can use the Dynamic Rotation to rotate an object according to the mouse direction, or you can use the top, bottom, left, and right options to rotate the object in one direction.
You can also view only wireframes, change colors of the lines, and add shade.
